Teresa Rodríguez’s “Stories Beyond the Headlines” Podcast Available Exclusively from reVolver Podcasts
DALLAS (Oct. 9, 2017) – reVolver Podcasts welcomes 13-time Emmy Award-winning journalist, Teresa Rodríguez with Stories Beyond the Headlines. Rodríguez is familiar to many as the co-anchor of Univision’s primetime, award-winning weekly newsmagazine program, Aquí y Ahora, (Here and Now), as a best-selling author, and the recipient of numerous awards and accolades. Now, she’s adding a new platform to reach audiences with her on-demand, audio podcast. Stories Beyond the Headlines launched its inaugural podcast last night, Sun., Oct. 8 in Las Vegas immediately following a special edition of Aquí y Ahora covering the Las Vegas tragedy.

Stories Beyond the Headlines will focus on the issues affecting Hispanic Americans in the United States, from crime and politics to immigration, terrorism, the economy, medicine and consumer related topics, as well as feature the real stories behind newsmakers, celebrities, athletes and those individuals whose tales of survival, commitment and passion drove them to succeed in life.
“The stories I’ll be sharing are remarkable. The perseverance and dedication as dreams are pursued; sharing the journey of people’s lives…it will leave an indelible mark on the lives of my listeners,” said Rodríguez. “I also want to hear from my audience – what drives you, what curves along the road have made you stronger, what life lessons have you learned that will benefit others. The sharing of stories weaves our society together, contributing to a stronger, more informed community.”
In addition to her 13 Emmy Awards, Rodríguez also received a George Foster Peabody Award, a Silver Angel Award for Excellence in Media, a Silver Circle Award from the Suncoast, Florida chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and two GLADD awards for her outstanding journalism on transgender. She was named to the 2013 Power Women list by New York Moves Magazine. Her best-selling book, “The Daughters of Juarez: A True Story of Serial Murder South of the Border,” is based on her more than 10 years of investigative reports on the abduction, rape and murder of hundreds of women in Juarez, Mexico. She is also a contributing author of “Count on Me: Tales of Sisterhood and Fierce Friendships,” a collection of essays.
Rodriguez was a founding member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She is a former Board of Trustee member of Barry University in Miami Shores, her alma mater, and is a Miami Dade College Hall of Fame Inductee, also taking part in the college’s recruitment campaign, “I am MDC.”
She has served as the Spanish-language national spokesperson for the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign and is a key proponent of Univision’s health and education initiatives, as well as voter registration drives among Latinos in the United States. Currently, she is a Steering Committee Member of Univision’s Women’s Leadership Council.
